Best/Most Romantic Restaurants To Try in The Greater Pittsburgh Area:

  • Debbie’s Pick: Atria’s
  • Location: McDowell Shops Plaza
  •                    4059 Washington Road
  •                    McMurray, PA 15317
  • Contact: Website or Facebook page or 724-942-1108
  • Atria’s is located at the heart of Peters Township at the McDowell Shops plaza. It offers daily specials and happy hours and even special events throughout the year. They had a Valentines special running from February 9 – 11 but they also have upcoming events for different locations on their Facebook page as well.  For example, the Canonsburg Atria’s is hosting a Mediterranean Wine Dinner event on February 20th that’s a 5-course Mediterranean wine Dinner!

  • Debbie’s Pick #2: Franco’s Trattoria
  • Where:  4120 Washington Road
  •                 McMurray, PA 15317
  • Contact: Website or Facebook page or 724-260-0164
  • As a team we visit Franco’s frequently for their “famous Fried Zucchini”. To quote their Facebook page, “they offer the best in casual, fine dining in the heart of the South Hills.” They don’t have any special events happening for Valentine’s Day, but their website recommends calling for reservations.

  • Barb’s Pick: Palazzo 1837 Ristorante
  • Where:  4120 Washington Road
  •                Washington, PA
  • Contact: Website or Facebook page or (724) 223-1837
  • You’ll definitely get a romantic feel from the Palazzo Ristorante just from the “historic Quail Mansion, built in 1837” alone. There’s also the Tavern side, which includes the bar and an exceptional amount of drinks and wines. They do offer a Valentine’s Day special called the “Special Prix-Fixe Menu for 2”. If you’d like to stop by a little later in the month they’re also holding a Miner Family Wine Dinner!

They are offering a Valentine’s Day special that’s available from February 13-February 14th called The Platinum Package. According to their Facebook page it includes: “ 5-course dinner for two, half a dozen roses, a bottle of champagne, rose petals and a candle, plus a private booth all for $250.” They consider themselves a “more unique” dining experience so you’ll definitely want to try it!

Their menus combined with their 150 varieties of wine make it an award winning Steakhouse that you don’t want to miss! They are offering a special Valentine’s Day menu on February 14th and on February 10th & 17th as well. However, if you’re single and looking for a night out with friends this location would be great for that as well!

Located in Pittsburgh’s popular South Side you could start here and make your way through the many bars and activities located on the East Carson Street. While it’s not holding any Valentines Day specials it would be a great way to start the night!

They have daily specials with a fantastic salad and salad dressing that’s loved by all! Once you stop in you’ll sure to be back! •                Pittsburgh, PA 15211

  • This is another award-winning seafood style restaurant you’ll want to check out! In 2016 it won “Best Seafood” from Pittsburgh Magazine. You’ll get “stunning 360 views of Pittsburgh’s legendary skyline” according to their website and enjoy “certified seafood paired with seasonal local ingredients.”  With each different view of the city there are different rooms to choose from for your dining experience – Incline Room, Skyline Room, North Shore Room & Exclusive Restaurant. While they don’t appear to be offering any specific Valentine’s Day specials, the views of the city alone are sure to make you fall in love!

Unique Date Ideas In the Greater Pittsburgh Area:

While the team definitely mentioned some great restaurants to try, maybe you’re looking for an activity to participate in instead. Jeanne, Debbie, & Barb mentioned that you can go down to Station Square (where a restaurant above is located). There are always different events going on there, especially at the Hard Rock Café!  The Meadows Racetrack & Casino that Jeffrey mentioned is also holding a number of events throughout February that are definitely worth checking out as well! Heather’s suggested the Gateway Clipper and they are holding a number of special events for Valentine’s Day including a Valentine’s Day Dinner, Moonlight’s Valentine’s Dance and a Princess Valentine’s Ball.  Also, for her suggestion of comedy shoes - Pittsburgh’s Improv has a number of acts that will be shown throughout February as well. Morgan’s suggestion of Pittsburgh’s thriving cultural district rings true! Wicked just finished playing at the Benedum on February 11th, but there are a number of additional fantastic shows and events going on for the rest of the month! Finally, while there’s not a Pittsburgh Penguin’s hockey game right on Valentines Day, there are some on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday if you want to take Jim’s suggestion!
