Local events 

South Park residents love nothing more than coming together and celebrating their small-town roots. The community hosts a variety of events throughout the year, including an Easter Egg Hunt and Brunch, an Environmental Day, and a Tree Lighting Ceremony to brighten up the holiday season. Plus, the South Park Amphitheater is home to the county's Summer Concert Series. Good music, delicious food trucks, and craft beer from local Hop Farm Brewing Company are a few concert staples.

One of the best-known features of the area, Allegheny County’s South Park stretches across more than 2,000 acres. The community park boasts countless amenities, including ice skating and roller hockey rinks, biking and horseback riding trails, sports courts, and even a championship golf course. South Park is also home to the 47-mile Montour Trail, which serves as the longest suburban rail trail in the country. 

A+ education

South Park public school students are served by South Park School District, a notably highly-rated district. In addition to its exceptional academics, the district is also known for its all-star athletics, specifically soccer. SPSD consists of one elementary, middle, and high school. Dedicated teachers who place a strong emphasis on extracurricular activities help make SPSD stand out as one of the top districts in the South Hills.

Here in South Park, a short drive will take you to some of the area's top-notch shopping destinations—Century Square and South Hills Village are two local favorites. Just a few minutes away on Library Road in Bethel Park, you can find more big-name retailers and grocery stores. Gil's Cafe is a go-to for classic American fare and cold beer on tap, plus Ya Ya's Pizza is right down the road with plenty of thin-crust pies to spare!
